Mondaire Jones is a lawyer, activist, and nonprofit leader from the Village of Spring Valley in Rockland County. The son of a single mother, Jones learned early on that a low-wage economy doesn't work for the average American and that a robust safety net was necessary to fill the gaps, despite his mother's working three jobs. After college, Jones served in the Obama administration in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice, where he co-authored a report to Attorney General Eric Holder on reducing recidivism among people leaving federal prisons. Jones is also a co-founder of the nonprofit Rising Leaders, Inc., which teaches leadership skills to underserved middle school students. Mondaire Jones is running for Congress to help vulnerable communities find a pathway to stability, expand access to health care, and build a pathway to the American dream for all families.
