Sri kulkarni

Position Sought

U.S. Congress Texas 22nd District

Date of General Election

November 3, 2020

U.S. Congress Texas 22nd District

Sri Kulkarni is a former diplomat and is running for Congress in Texas’ 22nd Congressional District. In 2018, he ran in the same district and came within just a few points of defeating the Republican incumbent, Pete Olson. The 22nd District, which has historically been a safe Republican seat, will be a target for Democrats this cycle, especially since Representative Olson has announced his intention to retire this year. Without an incumbent advantage, this is a prime opportunity for a Democratic pickup. Sri ran an extraordinary campaign in 2018 and has carried a strong infrastructure into 2020. He’s running to take money out of politics, expand access to health care, and protect Social Security and Medicare from privatization.
