Kara Eastman is running for Congress in Nebraska’s 2nd District. She served as CEO to the Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance, a nationally recognized, award-winning nonprofit that has raised more than $13 million to support green, safe, and healthy housing in Omaha. She’s running to bring progressive change to Washington for her diverse constituents. Kara’s support for Medicare for All is personal: Her mother passed away in 2017 because she could not afford the $800 monthly prescriptions needed in her fight against cancer. She is committed to ensuring all Nebraskans have access to affordable prescriptions, clean water, and safe schools. Her opponent, Republican incumbent Congressman Don Bacon, has been a loyal supporter of Donald Trump. He voted multiple times to support repealing the Affordable Care Act, and he has refused to condemn the Trump lawsuit to erase the ACA's protections even as we face a global pandemic.
